Your Engagement Photographer’s Engagement Photos

I have ALWAYS loved a good couple photoshoot. I have vivid memories of photographing my Barbie couples so I could print out their photos and put them above the pink, plastic fireplaces in their homes. What’s a home without personalization, right?

I feel the same way all these years later. My bedroom is full of photos that make the room feel like me. My family, friends & fiance are all over.

As a social media content creator and marketer, I have come to love couple photos even more. I love showing off how amazing my fiance is and how excited I am about our wedding and about life. It just makes me so happy and excited!

When we got engaged, we only had a few weeks left in Iowa before school would begin again in Virginia. We did a photoshoot a few days later.

My one big idea was based off of the song “Chapel of Love.”

It says “going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married!”

Naturally, I needed to a find a chapel (a pretty white church). I am seriously obsessed with how my vision came to life!

I also wanted photos around our hometown, where we fell in love as fourteen and fifteen year olds. It makes me smile looking at these, because these are places we went on dates and adventures for years before getting engaged.

The Scholte Gardens are part of a museum in Pella, our hometown. During the spring, thousands of tulips bloom. In the summer, there were hydrangeas – my favorite.

I love our outfits in this. I felt so classy wearing this dress in the garden. It felt like a Liesl moment (Sound of Music anyone?). Of course, we had to take some in a gazebo to make that a reality.

I am SO excited to put these (and hundreds more) at our wedding as decor, and around our future home! It truly captures us and our love, and I love how many special details there are.
